EUKI Networking Conference 2022, 20 – 21 September, FOSTERING THE GREEN TRANSITION

On behalf of EDINA project team, we would like to thank the Organisers of the EUKI conferences and all the event speakers for the opportunity to be part of such an interesting event entitled Fostering the Green Transition #EUKICON22 and can celebrate EUKI’s 5th-anniversary conference in Berlin.

During the conference debated the following topics:  How can we strive for climate neutrality in times of crisis? How to speed up the transition to renewable energy systems? Renewable Energy sources are very important in times of Energy crisis.

The Fit for 55 Package and the recently proposed REPowerEU Package are key references for all climate stakeholders from Europe.

During the workshop, we developed interesting conclusions such as:

– consulting centers would be very useful in such types of activities, as they would provide information about possible financial support for the works at respective stages of the building modernisation, and how to connect different sources of funds.

– energy advisors who together with the beneficiaries analyse their spending on energy and their consumption profile, and as well install the most necessary energy-saving improvements,

– different Energy tools for example Energy efficiency calculator available to consumers,

– good cooperation with architects and conservationists in order to preserve the historical value of historic buildings with regard to the installation of various renewable energy sources.

It was also a great opportunity to meet other project representatives and network!

Across the continent, the urgency of transforming our economies, cities, and ways of life towards a cleaner and greener future is picking up speed. How can we make use of this dynamic? Which energy sources and technologies help secure energy independence in the short run while boosting climate action in the long run? Which solutions do EUKI projects already provide, and what more is needed for a climate-neutral future?

The EUKI Conference 2022 provided an on-site and online space for more than 250 EUKI project members, representatives from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), and the EU Commission to ponder on these questions.

Also, we invite you to read and share the after-conference reports EUKICON2022 – Fostering the Green TransitionThe Energy Crisis is a Turning PointA Treasure of a Funding Instrument, and Three Future Tracks. The opening of the conference is available as a re-live video of the YouTube stream.
