Cities with Special Revitalisation Zones

Special Revitalisation Zones (SRZ) were introduced into the Polish legal order by the Act on Revitalisation in Article 25. They have had no equivalent before. That’s why they should be considered as one of the first tools for operational urban planning in Poland. They combine legal and organisational solutions that allow to carry out, during a maximum of 10 years, an intensive change in the revitalisation area or a part of it. Municipalities that decided to establish the SRZ planned to use this tool mainly for stimulating renovation of private properties by a subsidy system for owners and perpetual user of real estate, through revitalisation projects would be carried out in the SRZ area. Though, the SRZ offer many other legal and urban planning tools.
